Intel’s consumer SSDs, including the 660p NVMe and Optane drives, power a lot of enthusiast and OEM systems. We recover Intel SSDs that have vanished from the BIOS or dropped offline.
We handle Intel SSDs — across current and discontinued lines:
660p665p760pOptane
Common Intel failures we handle
•An NVMe SSD not detected
•A 660p that disappeared
•An Optane drive that failed
•A drive stuck in read-only
Intel models & families
Intel sold its NAND SSD business to SK hynix (now Solidigm) in 2021, but millions of Intel SSDs remain in service:
660p, 665p & 670p
QLC NVMe SSDs common in laptops and budget desktops.
760p & 600p
Earlier NVMe SSDs.
545s, 540s & 535
SATA SSDs.
Optane Memory & Optane H10/H20
Optane caching modules, and hybrid drives combining Optane and QLC NAND on one stick.
Data Center (DC) series
Enterprise SSDs from servers.
Known Intel failure patterns
Widely reported, publicly documented issues we see in Intel recoveries. Most units never have these problems — but if yours does, here’s what it means for your data.
Intel SSD 320 "8MB" bug
In 2011, some Intel SSD 320 drives were reported to show only 8MB of capacity after a power loss. Intel released a firmware fix, but affected drives still turn up. The original data generally remains on the NAND.
Optane caching and hybrid drives
With Optane Memory or an H10/H20 hybrid, data is split between the Optane cache and the main storage through Intel RST. Removing a module or disabling RST incorrectly can make the volume unreadable — recovery means reassembling both halves.
QLC drives when full
The 660p and 665p slow dramatically when nearly full. That’s normal behavior, not failure — but freezes, read errors, or disappearing are not.

Intel recovery — common questions
How much does Intel data recovery cost?+
One flat $1,200 for the Intel devices we handle — quoted before you ship, with no per-gigabyte fees and no diagnostic charge. You pay $0 if we can't recover your data.
Can you recover an encrypted or password-protected Intel drive?+
Often yes, but you'll need the password or encryption key. Many Intel drives use hardware encryption, so a physical recovery only yields readable data when the correct credentials are supplied — have them ready.
My Intel drive isn't recognized — is the data still there?+
Usually. A drive that isn't detected most often has a controller, firmware, or mechanical fault while the data itself sits intact. Stop using it, don't reformat, and let our cleanroom recover it.
Do I have to visit a location?+
No. We're a mail-in service: confirm online, we email a free prepaid label, you ship your Intel device, and we return it with your recovered data. You only pay on success.
