Desktop & PC Data Recovery for one clear price

When a desktop dies, the data usually lives on — it's just trapped on a drive the machine can no longer read. We recover the drive from any desktop or all-in-one for one flat price.

About desktop & pc data recovery

Desktops usually keep data on a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive, an M.2 or 2.5-inch SSD, or both: a fast SSD for the operating system and a larger hard drive for files. Some all-in-ones and compact PCs use laptop-style parts, and newer Macs solder storage to the board. Because most desktop drives are standard and removable, recovery is often a matter of getting the drive itself to read reliably, independent of the computer around it.

When a desktop stops working, the cause is frequently the power supply, the motherboard, or a failed update rather than the drive. When the drive is the problem, typical signs are clicking, very slow access, a drive missing from the BIOS, or a partition that suddenly shows as RAW. Desktops also tend to run for years without backups, so a single aging hard drive can quietly hold a decade of photos and documents. Bad sectors often spread over time, and repeated scans or reboots can speed that up.

Multi-drive setups add a wrinkle. Motherboard RAID, Windows Storage Spaces, and spanned or dynamic volumes spread data across more than one drive, so a single disk on its own may hold only fragments. In those cases every drive involved needs to be recovered together and reassembled in the right order.

What we recover

  • ✓Photos, videos, and personal libraries
  • ✓Documents, spreadsheets, and archives
  • ✓Application, database, and system data
  • ✓Data from failed boot and storage drives

Common failures we handle

  • •PC won’t power on or won’t POST
  • •Hard drive or SSD not detected
  • •Corrupted or RAW system drive
  • •Accidental format or deleted partition

Before you send it in: what not to do

  • ✕Don't run CHKDSK or other repair utilities on a drive that is clicking, slow, or showing as RAW — repairs write to the disk and can make a damaged file system worse.
  • ✕Don't keep rebooting to see if the problem goes away — a failing drive can degrade further with every power-on.
  • ✕Don't reinstall Windows or macOS onto the drive that held your files — the installation overwrites areas where your data may still be.
  • ✕Don't click Initialize or Format when the computer prompts you about the drive — doing so writes new structures over the old ones and complicates recovery.
  • ✕Don't separate or mix up drives from a multi-drive setup — the full set and their order matter for rebuilding spanned or RAID volumes.

How we recover it

1

Find the real fault

We confirm whether the failure is in the computer or the drive, and note any multi-drive configuration such as motherboard RAID or spanned volumes.

2

Repair the drive if needed

Hard drives with head, motor, or electronics faults are repaired in the cleanroom, and SSDs with controller or firmware problems get electronic-level work.

3

Controlled imaging

We clone each drive with equipment that reads around bad sectors and limits stress on weak heads, capturing the healthiest areas first.

4

Rebuild partitions and files

Working from the image, we repair or rebuild partitions and file systems, recover deleted or formatted data where it still exists, and organize your files.

5

Verify and return

We check that recovered files open correctly, then copy them to a secure return drive and ship it back to you.

Desktop & PC Data Recovery — common questions

How much does desktop & pc data recovery cost?+
One flat $1,200, quoted before you ship — no per-gigabyte fees and no diagnostic charge. You pay $0 if we can't recover your data.
My computer won't turn on. Does that mean the drive is dead?+
Not necessarily. Power supplies and motherboards fail often, and the drive inside may be perfectly healthy. If it is, recovery is usually straightforward. We generally only need the drives themselves, which are much easier and safer to ship than a full tower.
My PC has both an SSD and a hard drive. Which one should I send?+
Send whichever held the files you need, and if you are not sure, send both. Many setups keep the operating system and the user folders on the SSD while larger libraries live on the hard drive, so files you care about may be split between them.
Can you recover files after Windows was reinstalled?+
Sometimes, partially. A reinstall overwrites part of the drive, and on SSDs a feature called TRIM often erases freed space soon afterward, so results vary widely. On hard drives, files outside the overwritten areas can often still be found. Stop using the computer right away to protect what remains.
Is my data still recoverable?+
In most cases, yes. A device that won't boot or mount usually has a hardware fault while the data itself is intact. The key is to stop using it — don't reformat, rebuild, or keep powering it on — and let our cleanroom handle it.
Do I have to visit a location?+
No. We're mail-in: confirm online, we email a free prepaid label, you ship the device, and we return it with your recovered data. You only pay on success.
How long does it take?+
Most single-device cases finish in about 15–20 business days from arrival, with shipping adding only a day or two on each end.
