When an iPad won't turn on, gets stuck in a boot loop, or takes a fall or a spill, the photos, notes, and documents on it are usually still sitting on its storage. Our iPad data recovery service repairs the iPad's own board to reach that data, for one flat price.
An iPad stores everything on flash memory soldered directly to its logic board, and that storage is always encrypted. The keys that unlock it are held in the iPad's own security hardware and are protected by your passcode. That means the storage chips can't be removed and read in another device — the data would be unreadable. The only way to recover it is to get the original board working again.
Most iPad data loss comes from the board, not the storage: a failed charging or power circuit, corrosion from liquid, a cracked connection after a drop, or a failed update that leaves the device looping. Board-level repair targets the specific fault so the iPad can boot, accept your passcode, and let us copy the data off.
There's one limit worth being clear about. If your iPad still works and you deleted something, then emptied Recently Deleted or waited for it to clear, that data generally isn't recoverable. The iPad discards the encryption keys for deleted files and its storage cleans up freed space, so there's nothing left to read. A backup in iCloud or on a computer is the place to look for those files.
What we recover
✓Photos and videos from the Camera Roll
✓Notes, documents, and app files
✓Messages, contacts, and calendars
✓Drawings and files from creative apps
Common failures we handle
•iPad won't turn on or charge
•Stuck on the Apple logo or in a boot loop
•Liquid damage or a spill
•Dropped iPad with a damaged board
Before you send it in: what not to do
✕Don't restore or update the iPad in Finder or iTunes — a restore erases the device and its data permanently.
✕Don't keep plugging in a liquid-damaged iPad — charging a wet board accelerates corrosion and can short components.
✕Don't put it in rice or apply heat — neither dries the board properly, and heat can damage the battery and components.
✕Don't guess the passcode repeatedly — too many wrong attempts can disable the iPad or erase it if that setting is on.
✕Don't erase it remotely through Find My — that wipes the data you're trying to save.
How we recover it
1
Diagnose the board
Engineers inspect the logic board under magnification and measure power rails to find what's stopping the iPad from booting — liquid corrosion, a failed component, or physical damage.
2
Board-level repair
We clean corrosion and replace or rework failed components so the original board can power on and run iPadOS. The goal is a working board for recovery, not a cosmetic repair.
3
Unlock with your passcode
Once the iPad boots, your passcode unlocks the encrypted storage so the data can be read.
4
Copy, verify, and return
We copy your photos, files, and app data off the device, check that they open, and send them back on a secure return drive.
One flat $1,200, quoted before you ship — no per-gigabyte fees and no diagnostic charge. You pay $0 if we can't recover your data.
Why do you need my iPad passcode?+
Every iPad encrypts its storage, and the passcode is part of what unlocks it. Even with a fully repaired board, the data can't be read without it. If the passcode is unknown, recovery isn't possible.
Can you just take the memory chip out and read it?+
No. The storage is encrypted with keys tied to that iPad's own hardware, so a removed chip only yields scrambled data. Recovery has to happen through the original, repaired board.
Can you recover photos I deleted from a working iPad?+
Generally not. Once deleted items are removed from Recently Deleted, the iPad discards their encryption keys and the storage clears the space. Check iCloud Photos, an iCloud backup, or a computer backup instead.
Will my iPad work normally after recovery?+
Not necessarily. Our repair focuses on getting the board running long enough to recover your data. The iPad may still need further repair or replacement to be usable day to day.
Is my data still recoverable?+
In most cases, yes. A device that won't boot or mount usually has a hardware fault while the data itself is intact. The key is to stop using it — don't reformat, rebuild, or keep powering it on — and let our cleanroom handle it.
Do I have to visit a location?+
No. We're mail-in: confirm online, we email a free prepaid label, you ship the device, and we return it with your recovered data. You only pay on success.
How long does it take?+
Most single-device cases finish in about 15–20 business days from arrival, with shipping adding only a day or two on each end.
